What Does our Data Say about Marijuana Use?

What Does our Data Say about Marijuana Use?

We have seen a slight decrease in marijuana use among our teen population since 2010.  The graph below illustrates that 36% of the class of 2010 reported using marijuana in the past 30 days.  The class of 2012 reported a 5% decrease, with 31% having used marijuana over the same period.

Here’s what we know: Past 30-day use of marijuana increases significantly between 8th and 10th grade. The Classes of 2010 and 2012 had a similar pattern of behavior whereas the Class of 2014 in 10th grade has reported less use. When the Class of 2014 enters 12th grade we will have a better picture of whether this change is sustained.
